Reliability Engineer

Job Summary

The Reliability Engineer supports cement plant Maintenance and Production departments with problem solving and project execution in order to reduce time, improve process and lower opering costs by effectively applying Reliability Engineering methods and predictive/preventive maintenance programs.

Compension

The annual salary range is currently $95,000 - $115,000. 

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Engineer, and Purchasing to ensure th all necessary inventories are established for spare parts and most common repair parts for critical equipment
• Inspect and evalue equipment and develops reliability centered maintenance programs
• Work closely with Planner and Purchasing to establish and maintain effective Bill of Merials (BOM) process in conjunction with maintenance program
• Troubleshoot problems in the plant by studying and determining root causes of failures
• Prepare informion to present root cause failure conclusions
• Implement corrective/preventive actions ensuring optimal reliability
• Identify, collect, analyze, and manage various types of da to minimize failures and improve performance, and use failure analysis and other types of root cause analysis in support of reliability
• Establish and manage plant vibrion and the lubricion and oil analysis programs for all systems
• Establish and maintain preventive maintenance measures and documention for all equipment
• Maintain and modify, as needed, the plant engineering systems and library
• Manage projects including but not limited to project safety, scope development, budget, tracking/controlling, coordining with internal resources as well as outside vendors
• Assist with departmental budget development, maintenance reporting, and capital expenditure requests
• Manage, engage and utilize all levels of employees to assist in genering creive ways to drive continuous improvement and increased reliability
• Foster a culture of reliability; develop and provide training to personnel so th they can support safety, equipment reliability, and process efficiency
• Oversee daily work of dust collection/lube hourly union employees
• Coordine training classes with vendors and equipment suppliers regarding plant equipment
• Help facilite a culture change throughout the maintenance department

Educion

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or Civil Engineering
• Reliability Engineer Certificion preferred

Requirements/Qualificions

• Knowledge of instrumention, process controls (PLC’s), motors, starters, and VFD’s
• Knowledge of fluid systems (compressible and non-compressible), Vibrion, Roting equipment
• Comprehensive computer software knowledge required including; Excel, Word, Project, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint
• Project management skills
• Knowledge of hazards associed with areas of responsibility
• Must understand and comply with Lockout/Tagout procedure and safety requirements
• Ability to exercise independent decision-making and prioritize conflicting demands
• Must be willing to work cooperively with plant and corpore personnel
• Strong communicion, organizional, planning, and scheduling skills
• Ability to teach on all levels (supervisory and hourly)
• Physical requirements: Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground), climb stairs/ladders up to 200 ft. in elevion, climb on equipment to provide supervision, walk long distances, stoop, crawl under and into enclosed spaces
• Drive automobile to various plant sites and work locions; must be able to travel overnight (air/auto)
• Possess and maintain a valid class C driver’s license

Preferred: 

• Industrial plant experience
• Working knowledge of SAP Production
• Experience working with a union contract
• Understanding of ste labor laws reled to wage and hour
• Maintenance or Reliability Engineering experience preferred

Conditions of Employment

Successful candide must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examinion, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA reguled on-going drug and alcohol testing.
