We are currently looking for a qualified Team Support Worker / Trainer to join our residential team! The TSW/Trainer will be responsible for: providing support for helping youth and families create a better future in line with the values, mission and treatment philosophy of Trinity Youth Services. Maintain children in supervision at all times, focusing on behavior, safety, and general well-being. Promote growth and development in the children and assist them in reaching goals in accordance with their treatment plan. Initiate incident reports concerning behavioral problems, injuries, or accidents; provide complete and accurate documentation including dorm logs and other reports as assigned. Be responsible for CPR/ First Aid, Pro-Act and all “process” trainings for the assigned site. Schedule, facilitate and document all in-service training and continuing education units as required by Community Care Licensing. Provide all completed training documentation to the Office Manager, for appropriate certification and filing. Attend meetings and trainings as assigned. Work with the agency Training Coordinator and/or Training Specialist on and as needed basis pertaining to agency trainings.
Skills/Requirements: A High school diploma or GED required, in addition to one or more of the following; Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Sciences or Child Development, or 1) previous employment as a staff or service as a volunteer at a group home, STRTP, or substance abuse treatment program for at least one year; 2) lived experience in the child welfare, mental health, juvenile justice, or developmental disabilities system as a consumer or caregiver; 3) have at least one hundred (100) hours of relevant experience working with youth as a mentor, athletic coach, teacher, vocational coach, tutor, counselor. Experience working in a facility/program similar to Trinity or one involved with the counseling, education, or recreation of youth is preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age or older, able to pass a physical examination; drug clearance; criminal background check; Child Abuse Index check. Must hold a valid California driver’s license with clean DMV history, be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by Trinity’s insurance carrier. Must have a special interest in working with youth and must fulfill the general requirements as established in the California Administrative Code, Title 22. Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in English. Bilingual is a plus. Pay rate is $15.50 per hour.
