We rescued her from an abusive home about 6 months ago thinking we were only going to keep her temporarily until we could find her a new place to live with a loving family. She was too cute to get rid of and my kids fell in love with her immediately. Unfortunately, having two larger, older dogs and three young children, we are finding it too difficult to give her the care she deserves. Mostly, my children don’t treat her properly (mostly due to their ages and lack of knowledge) and I fear that we took her out of one bad situation and put her in another.

Here are her positive traits: she loves to cuddle on the couch or on your bed at night (though most nights we’ve had her sleep in a kennel), she’s very playful, is housebroken, and gets along well with other dogs. She actually gets along well with kids but my kids are too little and play too aggressively.

On the negative side, she is afraid of men. I’m guessing she was abused by a man in the past. My husband has tried to be very sweet and loving toward her but she runs and hides whenever he is around. She is still in her puppy stage and likes to chew on things and nip at you when she’s playing. I’m sure she’ll outgrow this as she gets older. We have lost shoes and my children have been bit a couple of times (I witnessed the biting and it was during play – not aggression – but my children don’t understand puppy play).

I am very concerned about finding her a home with a family where she will be loved and taken care of well. I am asking for a $60 re-homing fee to help insure this. I will include all of her surgery and shot documentation, her collars and leash, her bowls, a couple of brand new toys and her kennel with pillow.

My family is looking for a male small breed dog to add to our family. We would love to take on one that is at risk of going to the pound, as we are looking to save a life.

We are a Military family who just bought our first home. We have a 1 year old son and a small female boxer, so he has to be good with kids and other dogs.

I am a stay at home mom, so there will be plenty of love and attention coming his way. He will be an inside dog with furniture priviledges. ;)

We frequent the dog park in our area and go on daily walks.

We would love to put what some ask as a "rehoming fee" toward vet care and toys.

We are looking to pick him up after the 17th. I have a lot of family coming in and staying for a week. We think it would be best to bring in our newest family member when our household will be less chaotic. I would hate for him to get nervous and scared with all the people around. It will be hard enough just adjusting to a new house. We just wanted to post the ad now to get the word out!

My foster Mom is a dog trainer and has already taught me:
- Crate Trained and "Get in Crate" (That's where I sleep at night)
- "Sit"
- "Down"
- "Stay"
- "Come"
- "Shake Hands"
- "Wait" (at door ways)
- Walks beautifully on the leash
- "Leave It" (don't touch)
- "Drop"
- and much more!
- ...I am in the process of being housebroken and I am getting it!

- LOVE dogs (big and small)
- LOVE cats (my foster Mom has 4 and I am great friends with one of them and we play together a lot)
- LOVE people and I make sure not to jump and to be gentle
- think small animals are very interesting but I make sure I am gentle with them

They put chains on the dogs for many reasons....looks, strengthens the dog carrying the weight, chain w/padlocks so they aren't stolen, chain because of the dogs strength and they are usually kept outdoors only and attached to some sort of structer (mounted dog house or a pole etc...).

He's not in the middle of nowhere....the area is probably Midwest or South (Louisiana/Texas etc). The properties have a lot of land and have that 'middle of nowhere' or forest back ground.
