Education and Requirements
• B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited four year institution.
• Experience and a working knowledge of the social service field.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
• PC literate (proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel, Adobe Acrobat, web/internet browsing, and e-mail).
• Excellent writing/ organizational and communication skills.
• Bicultural and Bilingual (English and Spanish); preferred.
Scope of Work
• Evaluate and assess child safety with families assigned. Provide education and crisis interventions to each family as needed. Conduct intakes assessments, and provide home visits to family preservation clients and children on a weekly basis.
• Must be able to work a Flexible schedules with client who have full time employment, and must be seen in the evenings.
• Meet weekly with LCSW to discuss appropriate case plan for clients, and also reviewing family’s goals.
• Setting up MCPC meetings between DCFS, ALSC, and Clients. Provide information regarding client’s participation in FPP service plan.
• Make immediate decisions regarding crisis, child safety, child abuse, domestic violence, drug/alcohol use, and suicidal ideation inn clients. Notify Program Coordinator and DCFS. File child abuse reports as needed in addition to monitoring the status of the report and investigation.
• Provide supplementary services to family preservation clients and their families, which include education and training families in using appropriate skills to enhance the quality of life and reduce or eliminate child abuse.
• Monitor Supplement Services provided to your assigned clients.
• Provide weekly documentation regarding visits, made to the home. Reports client progress or needs observed during visits.
• Attends weekly staff supervision, and staff meeting as set by Program Coordinator.
• Participate in agency events as requested by Executive Director.
• Willing to accept other duties as assigned.
