I am a 4th grade teacher who volunteers for the Friends of the Murrieta Library. We recently had donated a box of 37 Brand New Zane Grey novels. These are the Walter J. Black Book Club Editions from the 1960's, as pictured.

Each book (except one) is still wrapped in its original rice paper wrapper. The books are unopened and unread. There are no ownership marks or writing. While I don't know the background of the donation, it is clear that the books were well taken care of and never displayed--they must have been packed in a box all this time.

If it is important (I'm not a book collector), most of the glassine (or rice paper) protective wrappers are in excellent condition. One or two have a tear, etc. The books are in excellent condition. Except for a bit of dust on the tops, I was hard pressed to find fault with any of them. One book has a small spot on the top of the blue page edge.

Again, all of the books are the 1960's Walter Black Book Club Editions. The titles are as follows: 30,000 on the Hoof, Arizona Ames, Betty Zane, Black Mesa, Blue Feather, Boulder Dam, Captives of the Desert, Code of the West, Fighting Caravans, Horse Heaven Hill, Lost Pueblo, Knight's of the Range, Nevada, Raiders of Spanish Peaks, Riders of the Purple Sage, Rogue River Feud, Shadow on the Trail, Tappan's Burro, The Border Region, The Deer Stalker, The last of the Plainsmen, The Last Trail, The Light of the Western Stars, The Lone Star Ranger, The Lost Wagon Train, The Mysterious Rider, The Rainbow Trail, The Ranger, The Sheppard of Guadeloupe, The Spirit of the Border, The Trail Driver, The U. P. Trail, Wanderer of the Wasteland, Wilderness Trek, Wild Horse Mesa, Wyoming, and Valley of the Wild Horses.

While I am sure that a collector is in need of a particular title or two, I don't want to break up this original set. The books are in one large box that I would love to get out of my living room (along with the other 15 boxes of books!)

New copies of individual titles on Amazon run from $12.95 and up, with an average price of $13.88 for most titles. And of course there is the shipping at $3.99 per book. Although the total is unrealistic, the sum is $661.00 if you were buying these new books individually.

Luckily, we are nice people and try to keep our pricing low so that everyone wins. We are only charging about $5.00 per book (with no per book shipping charges), which comes to $195.00 for the lot.

Please call or email Brian at show contact info with questions or for more information. I am hoping that someone regional buys this set so that they can see the condition in person, and I don't have to pack the books for shipping (although I would be willing to ship the set for the exact cost of postage). If driving distance is an issue, I can meet you halfway like I've done with other buyers.
